Broilmaster Deluxe D3CP Gas Grill

greenspun.com : LUSENET : SpannMan's Logbook : One Thread

Have had this grill for about three years. This past Sunday, I was cleaning out the bottom portion of the grill, removing all the ashes and other debris. When I fired the grill back up, there is now a hole in the front portion of the burner.

I am trying to find paperwork from the original purchase.

When I got home yesterday, I looked all over the grill for the model number and serial number. I could not find it anywhere. I called Empire again and explained my situation to a young lady. She explained to me that Broilmaster was once owned by Martin Industries and then sold to Empire. An escrow account was setup to allow Empire to handle the warranty issues. Apparently the escrow account is empty and Martin Industries is bankrupt. Long story short, Empire told me I would have to pay $30 towards the cost of the burner and another $12 for shipping. I agreed and the burner should be in the mail.

BROILMASTER builds the most durable grills known to man, and as proof of that we give one of the most comprehensive warranties known to the business. From the date your gas grill is purchased for use, BROILMASTER will make available, at our factory, a free replacement for any defective part covered by the warranty. Specific parts have specific limitations, and most are warranted only if the grill is used as a residential grill. Some parts carry a lifetime warranty (such as the porcelain-coated cast iron cooking grids, the cast aluminum grill body and the stainless steel carts and mountings), the stainless steel bowtie burners have a pro rated I5-year warranty, and all other items have a limited two-year warranty; ask your Broilmaster dealer to give you a copy of the Broilmaster warranty for details.

IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH YOUR GRILL

1. Contact your BROILMASTER dealer, if you cannot locate your dealer, call or write BROILMASTER Technical Service Department as indicated below.

2. If you do not receive satisfactory service from the dealer within a reasonable time, write BROILMASTER Technical Service Department and include the date you purchased your grill, its model and serial numbers, the name and address of the dealer from whom it was purchased, and a description of the problem you are having. Furnish a dated proof of purchase if your grill is within its warranty period.

3. In years 6-I5, ail burner warranty claims are to be submitted by consumer directly to BROILMASTER in Florence, Alabama, along with a copy of a dated receipt or bill of sale covering the purchase of the grill.

Jody (female) from New Energy called me back. They do not keep purchase records longer than two years, so therefore, they do not have my information available. I am thinking we purchased this in 2000, because the date on the Broilmaster catalog is 5.11.2000.

Regardless, I have to deal with a company called Empire. Their phone number is 800.851.3153. I called them and explained my problem. They told me they need either the original bill of sale or the model and serial number. He told me the model number and serial number should be under the control panel and I would have to get down and view from below. I told him I was looking at the metal plate on the back of the cart and both the model number and serial number fields were blank.
