Who can tell me the difference between a live and a differential Axle brake

a live axle is direct always 2 wheels pulling a dif.is where one wheel pulls when it slips the other pulls also there can be a reduction gear in a dif.I'm told that a dif axle is better for making sharp turns and climbing. hope this helps

Anthony is correct. However, your question specifically references "brakes", so I am going to take it a step further. When you have single wheel drive, your brake usually only stops that one drive wheel. But when you have a live axle, or solid axle (2 wheel drive) then both rear tires are stopping the cart when you apply the brake.
