In his book "Streets of San Francisco" Louis K Loewenstein writes

"Col Victor D Duboce commanded the first California regement in the Spanish American War of 1898.

Lower Duboce used to be 13th Street whereas upper Duboce was Ridley.

Duboce St. and Park are both named after my moms (Amelia Duboce (maiden name), Dads, (Carl Duboce) 's uncle Colonel Vincent D. Duboce, see http://www.sfneighborhoodparks.org/parkhistories/dubocepark.html yep that's my ...? great uncle?
