About to buy a MV; a few questions

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

Hello all,

There's a guy in my town who is selling his 2000 F4S and I'm going to go and take a look at it soon. It has 1800 miles and has had it's 600 mile check done by the dealer. As far as I know, these are the things to make sure the bike has: radiator conversion, brake recall work done, header heat problem/damage

Anything else I should look out for?

Thanks very much in advance

The only other thing to look out for are other prospective purchasers who might beat you to it! Looks as if you know what you're looking for - the recall work is important. Apart from that if all esle looks good, take it for a spin and give the man a deposit - enjoy! Gethyn

I think that there was also a fuel line problem that had to be corrected on that model year as well but I could be mistaken. Maybe someone else can shed some light on this or just contact a dealer. Good luck.

Since it is a 2000 and it only has 1800 miles it may not have the upgraded oil filter. I remember reading the older filters had the possibility of loosening and leaking oil to the back tire. I believe they changed the color of the oil filter so you can immediately see the difference (check with a dealer).

Good luck, Tony '00 MVF4S
