Was wondering if someone can help me :-)

I have tried several times to encode and burn using Nero to make my VCDs. I tried to play them back on my Toshiba DVD player (which states it plays VCDs) and got lines, blocks and freezes. So, now I have decided to use TEMPEnc to encode with and now am trying to burn with nero. I have already encoded my video with TEMPenc and need the next step.

Could someone please help me with the steps to ONLY BURN using Nero? It gives me strange messages like my video is not encoded properly. I find that hard to believe because Tempenc was a breeze. I played the video after it was encoded and it looked exactley the same as before I encoded it with Tempenc and the properties stated "made tonight" - so I think I'm good to go on burning?

If someone could give me the steps to ONLY BURN in nero I would so appreciate it :-)

Hey Shannon.

All you have to do is go to nero. Then if the "project manager" appears (where you choose if you wanna burn audio cd, etc.) you choose video cd if you encoded vcd in tmpgenc. Use super video cd if you encoded svcd in tmpgenc. it depends on the settings you used on tmpgeng: vcd or svcd.

Then, just don't pay attention to the messages Nero displays. You can try clicking on "deactivate standard compatibility" or something like that (i'm latin and my nero is in spanish, just look for something similar)

After that nero will stop complaining, you just burn the cd as usual. Click on the burn button, choose speed, and boom!

You should make a few tests to find out exactly what vcd's or svcd's your dvd player supports. The standards of Nero should work with anything, but you lose quality sometimes when using those standards, so just try the way i explained and if it fails, just write to my mail. i'll try to help you....

Please go to http://www.vcdhelp.com and look at the DVD Player Compatibility List for your DVD player. I want to warn you that some Toshiba models do not play CD-R/CD-RW and some didn't play VCD at all on any media.

here is an easy way, once it is encoded all you have to do is burn it as a data file its that simple. the encoded file is mpg and vcd players play mpg so burn it as data because it is already encoded, if you try to burn it as a vdc or movie it will take you through all the bullshit of re-encoding it...
