Poe has some letters on plagiarism at www,eapoe.org. Yet he himself "borrowed" at least as much as the people he delighted in accusing like poor Longfellow.("The Longfellow Wars")A little bit of reading, a little bit of writing and you're off. Plagiarism usually means "learn nothing, fool no one, lose the trust of your teachers forever" Look at Poe's own essays and do a take on part of one perhaps applied to one story or poem. He is very consistent, brief and relentlessly homing in on the same points. Only the poetic style and show off and tweaking tendencies put people off the scent now- as back then. Ignore the quotes, the amblings and go with the flow.
