How to convert .rm file to .mpg file

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I have some movies which were in .rm format and would like to convert them into .mpg so that they can be burned in Vcd. Can somebody tell me how to do this?

Thanks very much

Step one - find the program "tinra" using a web search and convert the RM file to AVI. Step two - convert the AVI to VCD using something like TMPGenc (http://www.tmpgenc.net). Real Media quality is often terrible, so don't be surprised if the final result is not very good.

Try RM COnvert! works fine!

I've had the best success in this with "EO Video". No need to convert to avi first it has an mpg encoder built in and you can also join several files into one mpg.
