How to transfer DVD (audio only) to CD-R?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I have some DVD's with music videos with audio that I cannot find on CD. I would like to know how to copy the audio portion only and copy/rip to a audio cd to listen on my portible cd player. I have both a dvd player and cd recorder on my pc. I appreciate any help you can provide.

First rip the DVD contents to your HDD with something like DVDDecrypter. How to use this freeware tool and where to download it from is up to you to find out. Then, identify which of the *.vob files it is that contains your favourite parts, and open these with DVD2AVI, most stable ver 1.77. There is a mode with DVD2AVI which will create a *.wav file along the *.d2v project, and it should be simple for you to edit this *.wav file and cut and paste your wanted portion, ready to be burned as CDDA.
