What are the best dates to be climbing Mont Blanc? I was looking at mid-June, but would like to be sure that the weather is relatively stable and the tracks reasonably well defined. Any experience appreciated.

Well, for what it's worth: I (almost) climbed Mt Blanc last week of July 2001, and it seemed to be peak season. Perfect snow conditions, but lots and lots of people. The crowds were discouraging and didn't seem worth it, so we climbed nearby Mt Blanc-du-Tacul. Mid-June will be before peak season I imagine, but you might have a bit higher chance of getting snowed on. Should be OK, but get other opinions.
