SCL Stock Car(?)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ACL and SAL Railroads Historical Society : One Thread

Hey, I was wondering if ACL and SAL stock cars made it into the SCL years? If so, what did they look like and were they assigned to a specific area? I know that stock cars were starting stop being used in the 60s but didnt know if they were still around during SCL. Thanks! Jason

6 stock cars conveyed to SCL, according to the 7-1-67 roster (available as a reprint in our catalog), SAL 3052-3053 and 4 from the ACL 140000 series. However all were gone shortly after and I imagine none were ever repainted or renumbered for SCL. But, if they had been, the new assigned numbers would have been 743052-743053 and 440000 instead of 140000. I last saw an ACL stock car in service in November 1966.

Jason, That I'm aware of,SCL didn't have any stock cars. Most of the stockyards had already gone to trucks.
