alternate home for FRL

greenspun.com : LUSENET : FRL friends : One Thread

In case we need a backup place to hang out, we've been offered a place on a board with some old FRLians. We won't need to use a password or anything like that. The board format isn't as nice as this one, but it's paid for.

Let me know what you think. Aunt Bee knows where it is.

Wanna make ourselves a little room there?

Forgot to mention that all officers and other appointees will remain the same. Only the address will change. And the format. And the background colors. And there will be some other people we don't know yet. But other than that, nothing will change. Until further notice and all that.

The name doesn't even have to change.

See?

btw, should that fruitcake be refridgerated?

I've book-marked the site.

What a nice gesture from Old Git! She's a FRLian from way back, you know. But then, I was around before Andy gave her the name "Old Git". I know stories of broken toes on dance floors, etc. ;-)

Please go check it out. I don't want to lose touch if greenspun suddenly falls down and can't get up.

Signed on. Think it works.

Yes Helen, it is a lovely board. I haven't spent much time online lately, but would encourage others to check it out. They )ezboard) generally have little downtime and do have some kinda nifty features, not to mention speed! I like it! Kind of Old Git to offer us space! Check it out folks!

They want to know who will be responsible for any mod functions that might arise in our space over there. I told them we already have all that worked out -- as much as we ever get anything straight -- and that it prolly ought to stay the same.

So many forums, so little time.

Thanks, Helen.

You do know that Unk made the same offer some time ago? Unks addy is http://www.hostboard.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=310 for those who either don't have it or have lost it. Although we would have to share that board, it's nice to have a back-up, back-up plan :-)

Thanks Helen and Tricia. I don't net surf much, just here and a couple of photography sites, but got really bold and registered at both your suggested sites. Had a good laugh a Gayla's post of an old thread on Ezboard. Being a bit of a recluse I hate change, but they all seem like very nice people. Thanks again.

In for a pound, in for a penny.

-- (sonofdust@just.registered), February 07, 2003.

I knew that bait... er, chocolate would do the trick! ;-)

You can register for a FREE account, it can be local or global. You're more likely to get the name you want if you do a local account.

-- Gayla (privacy@please.com), February 07, 2003.

I think you can see the FRL site over there without registration. You have to register to post. No one will knock on your door. Not any ofus anyway.

Can anybody tell me who some of the ez-posters are that I already know from other boards (if their handles are different from here or TB2K). Just as an example, someone called 'masked munchkin' just said 'hi' to me but I don't know who it is!!!!!! (poopie)

Yes, Gayla, I take chocolate from strangers ;-)
