Hello.. you can check out John 3:16 at Funan IT Mall downtown. They offer information readily and the staff are friendly enough to answer your questions even if you haven't made plans to buy. The other place to check out though more for their second-hand deals, is Camera Workshop located at Peninsula Shopping Centre, just next door to Funan. Have fun!

I study in Singapore for 2 months already and here is the warning. Most of equipment my fellow-students buy here tends to break down in a month or so. This includes primarily cameras and laptops.

I am still not sure about the reason, but I would suspect the following: - either merchandise sold here doesnot pass through the quality control to save on cost since it is pretty cheap to replace it compared to the stuff shipped to Europe or US. - or shops sell rubbish to Caucasians in hope they will never come back

In any case, make sure you have your INTERNATIONAL warranty slip duly stamped and signed!

Yeh, most of the faulty stuff comes from Funan and SimLim IT Malls

Same advise as Denis. NEVER buy cameras at either Funan, Luck Plaza or Sim Lim. They've got pretty colorful shops but make the worst deals. They'll even convince you in buying stuff you don't need and create this amazing story of how topnotch this model is but it's actually models that don't sell. I am a foreigner here as well and whenever friends come over to visit they ask me where to buy cameras and believe me I have been to all of them and heard all their sales talk. Best camera place is Peninsula. No smooth talkers just straight to the point deals. So search the net first for reviews on models you may want to purchase and get an estimated cost before venturing into shops.

Yeah...go to the camera shops in peninsula plaza...no bullshit..just the shit. Also, check out this shop called MsColor at Ang Mo Kio, they give good prices for cameras...all the best.
