Divx crashes tmpge, virtual dub and nero-plays fine with divx player

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I have I file I cannot seem to encode. It plays fine with the Divx player, but every encoding program I try to load it into will cause an error-info on file from properties is as follows:

Audio - MPEG Layer-3,127 kBit/s, 44,100 Hz, Stereo

Video - 640 x 360, 133147 Frames, 23.979 Frames/Sec, 124 KB/Sec, Unknown Format

Even the tools that examine the file to determine its compression crash

Any ideas?

Try a DivX forum. http://www.doom9.net and http://www.divx-digest.com have some DivX forums where you might get help. This is a VCD forum, pretty much for greenhorns. Your problem is off topic for us and not likely to get a helpful response. Off hand, your audio looks OK, so I would tend to blame the video codec. 48 KHz audio often causes problems like yours, but since your audio is 44 KHz, that's not it.
