F4 insurance in Englandgreenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread |
Hello everyone, In a couple of weeks i intend to join your exclusive club. I am soon to take delivery of my dream bike......since i first saw the F4 oro i have made it my mission to own an F4. Jan seems a strange time to take delivery of a bike but i have been offered a good deal on a 1+1 evo 02. My question is can anyone recommend an insurance company in the UK. I have only had my bike licence 2 years (i took my test immediately after seeing the F4 at a show) I am 35 and my licence is clean, although i have no "no claims" coz i have been living in Germany for the last few years. I only need third party fire and theft, but would like this to be valid on the continent year round coz i still travel to Germany a lot. Thanks for any help in advance
Ian

wow, gonna cost some. try broker carole nash (details in all bike press) who seem pretty good. i pay them £450 comp for an MV and a Ducati. but i'm 40 with full bonus, in the sticks etc etc. good luck.

Ian,Not having no claims is going to hurt. I can only get comprehensive cover, and I don't know any insurers who will do a group 17 bike on TPFT, let alone with less than 3 years NCD. I really don't want to bring a veil of doom down on your MV purchase, but it's not easy in the UK.
There is some light - I use H & R insurance brokers in Aberdeen. They unsure me comprehensive on my MV and GSXR Thou. About £500 each bike. I am 32, live in the sticks and have max NCD though. Good luck mate, H & R may do something for you, give them a try.

FYI, it cost me $480 a year (US)to insure my 02' 1+1 in the States....whats "No claims" This sounds like a good thing :)Cheers! and ride safe...this is a lot of bike for a new rider.

"No claims" means if you haven't had any accidents which are your fault then they lower the cost of insurance is less. Most offer a percentage discount if you've had a history of Motorcycle insurance without any "claims".

Thanks for the replies guys. I think i will insure my bike in Germany instead, theft is almost unheard of and here i have some "no claims" discount making the whole deal cheaper. The dealer reckons around 400 Euro. Regards Ian

Sounds like the best deal Ian. I just noticed I wrote 'unsure' instead of 'insure'. Could be an ominous sign for trying to make a claim in the future, ha ha ha...
