Naming of the Ingleside

greenspun.com : LUSENET : San Francisco History : One Thread

I am wondering about the Ingleside. How did it receive its name? I know Bob Ingle posted a question about this already, but I have a good theory.

I had a strange dream that an Irish man called Ingle McCruppit (please don't ask me about that).

Then I hit a very important point:

I was breaking "Ingleside" down into "Ingle" and "side". But, for those of you who know spanish, you know "Ingles" is Spanish for "English". What I'm guessing is that the spanish named it this to denote the English or English-speaking side of something; perhaps the San Miguel Ranch?

Good night and have a pleasant tomorrow and DON'T DELETE THIS!!
