Found a painting done by him today at a Morgan Memorial. It said T.Monito 1893. Selling for $1400. Large painting about 24x36 Scene appears to be Italien. Any more clues?

I have an oil painting by him titled "The Old Villa." It has been in my family for many years. Can you tell me anything about the artist?

I am also searching for answers regarding this artist. A friend of mine owns an Italian Mediterranean Scene. On the back it has a type written text about him. Says he studied with Cabanet and Bisset. I believe in Rome. Please send me any info you have as well. The painting is beautiful but it is only about 24x28 no a regular shaped canvas and you can see the paint on the back, seeped through. You can tell it is an original is my point. She obtained from her aunt who owned it for many years. If I can get more details I will let you know and if you could do the sdame, thank you.
