art lessons in toronto

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Public Art : One Thread

I've been searching for art lessons - drawing and oils - in central to east Toronto area. I'd prefer not to go to the larger places like OCAD; instead I'm looking for smaller classes with preferably people like me who aren't all that confident as a beginner *s*.

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

thanks!

You can take classes at Lynrich Arts, it's just north of Yonge and Steeles. It's an art supply store wiht a studio area in the back. It has a full selection of courses from painting to drawing, etc. Contact them at 905 771 0411. Hope this helps

You can take classes at Richmond Hill Academy of Music & Arts, it's just north of Yonge and Major Mackenzei. You can check our web site @ www.rhaom.com We also are hosting an Art Exhibition on the March 26th @ 6:00. Bring your friends and family too. The Art that are going to be displaced are breath taking!

See you then

It sounds like you'd love what Jolly Good Art is offering. They are in Richmond hill, Elgin Mills between Bathurst and Yonge. Have a look at their web site: jollygoodart.com and see their kids art gallery and adult art gallery and classes. Good luck!

You may also want to consider the Avenue Road Arts School, although the lessons are rather pricey. 460 Avenue Road Toronto, Ontario M4V 2J1 Tel: (416) 961-1502 contactus@avenueroadartsschool.com

Many libraries around the city also offer lessons for beginners. I myself took some at Barbara Frum library around Lawrence/Bathurst.

Actually, I'm looking for something right now, while I'm on my break from full-time art school. I just don't draw/paint unless there's someone telling me to!
