Steam locomotives facilities in Wildwood yard : LUSENET : ACL and SAL Railroads Historical Society : One Thread

Where was the coaling tower and water tower located in Wildwood yard? I assumed that they were on the lead track to the turntable/ roundhouse, but I don't know for certain. Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Richard -

I have the plans for Wildwood as it existed in early/mid 50's. Even though most of the steam facilities were gone by then, it still does reference some. It shows the sanding facilities on the left side of the lead (as you approach the roundhouse from the north), just shy of half way down the lead. My guess would be that the coaling and water facilities would be nearby.

Additionally, at the south end of the yard, between the two main lines it shows "standpipes" and "waterboxes".

Hope this helps.
