NS (original one) historical group?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ACL and SAL Railroads Historical Society : One Thread

While at the spring meeting down in Rocky Mount, one of our members mentioned that a group was in the formative stages as a Norfolk-Southern (the original one) Railway Historical Society of sorts. Since that company served many of the same towns the ACL and SAL did, a knowledge of NS history is instructive. I would be grateful for any information concerning that group.

Ed - this group calls itself the "Norfolk & Southern" HS (after the early 1900s version of the NS name) to distinguish itself from the present-day NS Corporation. They have put out a few newsletters and had some meetings, although I haven't been to any. For more information contact Bob Reisweber, 4729 Bristol Circle, Williamsburg, VA 23185.
