SATIN RABBITSAre satin rabbits a large meat type rabbit? I have only had NZ whites. I bought two satin does, 6 mo. old, just wondering how big they get.

hi tiller yes satins are good size meat rabbits,all my bunnys are satin california cross and they are huge.people ask if i feed them a special feed because the are so big,but i don't just pellets and hay also a little horse feed here and there as a treat. they also have big litters,all my litters averange 8 to 11 babies.they also are great moms.so what i'm saying is you made a good buy,hope you have as good of luck as i've had with mine.cindy

Hi, Tiller. From my experience, Satins are just slightly smaller than NZ or Californians. I have a Satin buck that I've crossed with NZ does, and they produce great litters! If your does are 6 months old, they should be very near to their full size, if not there already. Best of luck with your bunnies! :-)
