CHOCOLATE CHERRY FIZZ

Makes 2 drinks. Recipe can be halved or doubled.

2 cups fresh sweet cherries, pitted OR: frozen dry-pack cherries, thawed. 2 to 3 tablespoons chocolate syrup. 2 teaspoons lemon juice. 14 cup superfine sugar. Club soda OR: seltzer water, chilled. Cherries on skewers OR: curled lemon rind (optional)

Combine cherries, chocolate syrup, lemon juice and sugar in blender. Whirl for 2 minutes or until smooth.

Pour into 2 tall glasses filled with ice. Top with soda and optional garnish.
