How do Hamlet's relationships with Gertrude and Ophelia effect his quest for revenge?

Good grief, that's a bit big. Basically I guess it boils down to: personal relationships can often get in the way of business and duty and so on. And vice versa. But you need to decide first what you think his relationship with each is, how it functions, changes, and so on. You might want to have a look at all the other questions related to Gertrude and Ophelia in this forum - including "Oedipus Complex", and also the one about "Hamlet is so obsessed with his own problems ...", and anything else that looks relevant - to help you with this. There's a lot of stuff there. But yell out if you're still stuck.
