Are you ready for winter??

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Style Homesteading : One Thread

Just wondering how everyone is doing getting ready for winter. Hope you are about all done. We have a little to do yet, but should be done by the end of the week.

We had a slight reprieve from winter last week, temps were in the 60's for a few days. Can't beat that for November in Wisconsin. Many years we have snow on the ground by now, but this year so far so good.

Let us know how you are doing or what you have left to do.

We had temps in the 60's the last couple days.On the 9th we had 13 degrees with the wind blowing. That was cold.Raining here now.We still need it.It could snow on Jan 23 and I still wouldn't really be ready.I have to many projects going. We had 3 inches of snow last week, all gone now. That is early for us.Around the last of Nov we can have snow.but we have had a green Xmas in later years.I'm still getting in wood. It's all down and needs to be cut up.I'm trying to build a small barn.Got the floor done.Still have to till the garden.Take the screens off the windows.Have to hook up the water heater for the chickens and build some roosts for them. This rain is keeping me inside.
