germination of corn seeds

greenspun.com : LUSENET : VictorySeeds.com : One Thread

My daughter is researching for her science fair project and her question is...Does the distance between planted corn seeds affect the rate at which the seeds germinate?

Thank you, Deanna Payton

Answers

Spacing will have no affect on germination. When we are performing gremination tests, the seeds are really close. However, planting too close will create competition for resources and the plants themselves will not thrive.

Hope this helps.
