Finger strength while travelling in the boonies

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Everything About Teaching and Learning the Piano : One Thread

What do professionals use to keep up their finger strength and dexterity while travelling? Especially if they are going to be away from a piano/electricity for more than a few days. Is there a 4 or 5 octave portable keyboard (with or without sound) that is designed for this purpose? The only weighted hammer action keyboards I've seen are the large 88 key (expensive and heavy). Thanks for suggestions.

Finger strength isn't something you have to actively maintain 100% of the time. When I (or my professional friends) travel, we don't even touch a piano. Usually takes a few days to get back into shape when I return, but that's all.
