I have posted a general statement to the other people who use this board on another thread. I have also posted a message to every active forum on Lusenet explaining exactly what you did to Ask A Drunk. But this is my personal reply to you.

I am very upset with what you did to AAD and have warned every other board that if they upset you, you may attack their forum as well. This has taken me a great deal of time that I would have liked to have spent doing something else, but I do not feel it is a waste. If I can get through to you that what you did is stupid and immature then I have achieved my goal.

You must realise that spoiling other peoples fun just because you didn't fit in is extremely childish. As well as this publishing peoples home phone numbers on unmoderated boards where they cannot be deleted is a gross invasion of other peoples privacy.

When the internet works, it really works. It is a free exchange of knowledge and ideas done as an end unto itself, as this board about the history of San Franscisco is a great example. I'm annoyed and not a bit ashamed that I had to damage this board to make my point, but what else could I do? The net only works when everyone treats it with respect. Just look at what happened to the first Anarchy board to see what games like yours end up like. Look whats happened here to see what happens.

Think about it - you are very fond of this board here, it discusses a topic which you obviously enjoy and here you can find other people who also like indulging your interest. You must know yourself how great it is when you find somewhere like this.

Just because you do not value the subject matter and people on another board or you feel that they are unfunny sick and mindless does not give you the right to spoil their fun. It is a fascistic, blinkered act of intellectual elitism and ignorance that has no excuse. Ask A Drunk may have seemed unimportant and trivial to you, but to others it isn't. Even if you do not empathise with other people, you must respect their right to express their ideas. It is an important part of your countries' constitution and one of the hallmarks of civilised humanity. I appreciate that you are a young lad and you were upset with what people were saying about you, but that is their right just as muchas it is yours to talk about the history of your beloved home town. You can't go around doing what you did. You just can't.

I could've just walked away and followed the other posters to AAD to the new board. A part of me wanted some sort of payback (hence the name), but another part of me feels it would be a mindless waste if you didn't learn something here. Please. It is not your right to destroy something just because you don't like it. I realise that now you will probably have to explain your actions if you wish to post on any other Lusenet board. I realise your favourite board has been defaced and that upsets you. But if you realise why this has happened then it has been worthwhile.

Respect the internet, respect other people. I hope you carry on posting to this board, and you keep on posting to other boards on the internet. You will learn a lot, you will have the freedom to learn what you want from who you want, you will doubtless be able to teach other people things. This is what the net is for. Not for attacking other people because you don't like them.
