Holiday Recipes to share!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : FRL friends : One Thread

Hi gang!

I just wanted to share one of my most requested recipes, which isn't mine at all! (Plus it doesn't hurt to add to the thread numbers for greenspun, just to keep the forum current, doncha know!) So here it is~! I found this recipe a coupla years ago, when a vendor at work was selling them for $5 apiece and I found out, she was only selling half the batch at that! I figure it costs me about $2 fer the whole thing, and it is an easy freezer item to have on hand~!

Enjoy! (Not a fruitcake, I know!!!)

I add freshly grated nutmeg and mace to the batter mix which makes the house smell wonderful!

Enjoy!

btw - any takers for an african wedding recipe that calls for one elephant, multiple goats and chickens, not to mention eggs and milk? I won't bother looking for it unless someone really wants it. :-)

Dear Dear Dear Aunt Bee! Why is it that most of your posts make me hungry? Uh, BTW, do you have any recipes that call for Poopie Puffs? (jus' wonderin')

p.s. It's a good thing you don't live up here in Joisy. (I think you could be arrested for just having Mace! And who knows what they would do to you if they found you put it in your recipe! Maybe you could substitute some nice yummy Puffs instead ;-)

No poopie puffs or mace in this one either!

Kahlua Pecan Pie

Cream together:

1/4 c butter

3/4 c sugar

1 tsp vanilla

2 TB flour

Beat in:

3 eggs (one at a time)

Stir in:

1/2 c Kahlua

1/2 c dark corn syrup

3/4 c evaporated milk

1 cup whole pecans

Pour into a deep pie shell (your favorite pie pastry recipe) Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 325 and bake 40 more minutes until a knife tip inserted into the center comes out clean.

Just another Southwestern tradition...

Hey, I had to come back to this thread for the recipe for Cherry Vanilla cookie recipe. I never thanked Kit for wanting me to adopt him. Consider it done, and know I am with you in spirit, all of you. Much love, and warm cookies to each of you!

4th of July dogs:

Get hot dogs,

remove from wrappers,

put on grill,

cook, rotating evry now and then,

remove from grille,

put on bun....

Add stuff you like, don't add stuff you don't like.

Eat.

Yummy thread. I got some "Country Style" spare ribs and bbq'd them till they were brown, then brushed on some bbq sauce. Everyone thought they were really good. Easy too ;-) Just have to watch you don't burn them with too high a temp. Had them with some jalopeno pickle slices, potato chips, and a big mixed green salad.
