Any interest in ACL & SAL right of way sign models?greenspun.com : LUSENET : ACL and SAL Railroads Historical Society : One Thread |
For the ACL and SAL modelers out there: Is there any interest in models of ACL & SAL lineside signs? The proposed models would likely consist of styrene parts with decals. Typical signs would include crossbucks, no tresspassing signs, whistle posts, (station/crossing/drawbridge) one mile signs, yard limit, speed restriction signs, etc.

Buddy, I would like to see the ACL-SAL signs for my layout. I am sure the many of us who model both the ACL-SAL would purchase them, as soon as they were on the market. Allen Wiener,Ocala, FL (a city that both ACL and SAL served)

Very good idea. I live in the Knoxville, Tn area and am in the process of setting up a fairly good sized ACL model railroad that has its theme centered around the W & W Subd. The time period that I love for modeling is the late 60's because you can get the benefit of ACL signage, buildings, etc. with a touch of the still new SCL. Eastern NC locations such as the W & W, and then further north at places like Parmele were the true representations of rural eastern NC railroading.

This is a good idea,Larry Goolsby was talking to me about it at the Timonium show a couple of weeks ago. Scratch building takes time, building a kit takes less, leaving more time to enjoy the hobby. mike hart ( hart of the south )
