I am writing a research paper on becoming a music teacher and I need to know statistics for how many people have started taking piano lessons in the past ten years. Thanks!

I'm not sure you would even be able to get that information...There's no way to record such a thing...You might try local teachers,(pick an area) how many students they have, research the demographics,etc.

Then you might also want to call local music studios and see what their enrollment has been for the past year. Otherwise, it's not like finding out how many people bought a Ford this year. Just get creative about where to look...you may find this an almost impossible question to answer. Grace
