the mpg file needs to be burned with nero to a vcd format which can also be done with easy cd creator platinum.

tomthumb is correct on this point, however, if any components within the description specs of the mpeg file are highlighted in red then the mpeg may not be a compatible format to be converted. In other words, the program may, in fact, convert the mpeg; but the created vcd from the bad mpeg may result in a non-playable file or cd. The Apex model dvd players currently on market at walmart can play mpegs. well, at least 90% of them. There is only stop/play/pause. FF stops the play. so does REW. they're not great for playing mpegs, but they can play them. Actually, I would love to know about a mpeg player with FF or REW; or even cueing. Any info on avi players also appreciated.

I just bought an AMW V-99 DVD player for $50 (Canadian). It plays mpegs, and will FF & RWD in multiple speeds. There is no delay between the video & sound. So far so good... but I just burned ten 450MB mpegs onto a DVD, and it'll only play the first six. The menu lists all ten, and they all play on my computer, but only the first six on the AMW. I haven't a clue...
