cultural history of cognitive psychology

Where can I find information on the cultural context and history under which cognitive psychology really gained momentum? specifically during WWII and later by the influence of the computer model and information processing?

You might take a look at Bernard Baars' book _The Cognitive Revolution_. It contains interviews with most of the main players (some of whom were more cognizant of the impace of their cultural context than others).
