"I am a sex maniac"

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Boris Vian : One Thread

In the book "Paris Interzone", about Vian and all the other writers in Paris post-WWII, the author whose name escapes me momentarily, cites an article by Vian which he translates as "I am a sex maniac," which appeared, I think, in "Combat?" Perhaps. Anyway, it was Vian's response to his fine and the banning of "J'irai..." Apparently, in it he reports that, despite the presence of the Marquis de Sade's books in the house and the fact that his father has been found guilty of pornography, Vian's son nevertheless prefers to read the "Adventures of Tintin." I've gotten the primary book of Vian's nonfiction, "Textes et Chansons," which doesn't seem to have it. I haven't found it anywhere. Does anyone know of this article and where it might be found short of tracking down a copy of the original magazine from the early 1950's?

Answers

I can't find any mention of it and of course searching on "manic du sex" I struck some rather suggestive web sites - but no Boris Vian.

I suggest writing to Robert Cambell via his publishers.
