Next regular luncheon meeting of the ELEVATOR INDUSTRY GROUP OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA will be--

TAIX's Restaurant 1911 Sunset Boulevard - Los Angeles Tuesday, October 15, 2002 - 11:30 AM

This will be their annual meeting with Elevator Code enforcement officials. James Meyer, Manager of Engineering Services and other representatives of the Industrial Safety Division of the State of California will be present, along with Lance Wong, Chief, Elevator and Pressure Vessel Section, Department of Building and Safety, City of Los Angeles and other reps.

For the best results, please send any questions you might have in advance to Davis Turner at DLT506@aol.com. Davis will coordinate submittal of questions to the proper persons so that the best possible answers can be prepared for presentation and discussion at our meeting.

As this meeting always draws a large attendance, we need an approximate count so that the restaurant can make the proper preparations. Please send an email to Stan Schultz at lujon34@earthlink.net advising your attention to attend and any additional persons you will bring along. As always, the fee for persons not covered by the membership dues already paid is $20.00 per person, which includes a full lunch and beverages.

One very important item to be discussed is the status of adoption of the ANSI A17.1-2000 Code and its' (A17.1a-2002) addenda by the State of California. Numerous additional requirements are contained in these measures, particularly in the maintenance area and there are very significant implications for our industry.

If you will be in the area on this dae, it will be well worth your while to attend.
