Unable to copy to CD-R

My CD burner is a Lite-On LTR-24102M and I formatted my CD-R disc using Roxio Easy CD Creator 5. My CD drive pathname is D:. I cannot figure out why I receive "Destination D: is not ready" when I execute backup set. Yes I set the source and destination options. I can copy files to the CD-R disc by any other method available to me so I know it's not the disc or the CD drive. Any suggestions?

Hey John.

You have formated the disc with some sort of software? DirectCD prehaps? You can drag and drop files to the CD in the Win Explorer? And you're not running WinXP inbuilt CR writing system? Well, then it should work... I'm afraid I don't know how to help you.

I use the same set up (Easy CD Creator 5 and an LTR-24102M) and have never had the problems you have. I was wondering whether you are actually using a CD-R or CD-RW as once you have formated the CD-R you cannot do anything else to that disk. Just the same as if you were using a CD-R to record data the usual way you cannot copy over or re- write. If this is so I suggest you use a CD-RW as these are completely re-writable and can be used after being formatted.

I got the same message. I am running XP with DLA for CD writing. The CD had been formatted using DLA, so lack of format wasn't the reason. I solved the problem by creating an empty folder on the CD and then NHB would recognize it and everything seemed to happen as expected. (This is my first time using NHB so I say "as expected" as opposed to "right" because I really did not know in advance what "right was.)

Whenever I try using easy-cd to creat a music cd, when the program starts I get "Easy Cd Creator Engine initalizatoin has failed:" (i click "ok") then I get "Exception in CreatInstanc of Creator!" (click "ok" again). I cant find any way to fix this. I dowlded Nero, but that says it dosent support my drive. ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGUSTIONS ON HOW TO BURN A SIMPLE MUSIC CD!??

I have the same problem, but this has nothing to do with the CD used as it is doing it and executing easyCD 5.
