greenspun.com : LUSENET : Repossession : One Thread

Hi just a question After years of fighting repo & desperately seeking sale friend finally got rid of house. It was jt & sev but ex walked away completely. Understand there is ome rule that of "equity"?? that one party can claim to court for their share to be repaid to them plus interest.

Anyone done it as he put her through hell???

PLEASE REPLY

I was advised not to bother with this course of action as it is unenforceable unless the shortfall is acknowledged. My ex also walked away from joint and several liability on the mortgage, credit cards, bills, child support, bank loan - you name it. He spent six years after we split moving every March to avoid the electoral roll and now has (so I hear) a new car, job, flat etc. The Lender has never once - ever - contacted him. I have a (separate) judgment against my ex for money he owes me, plus child support arrears.Years later I have never seen a single penny and my solicitor told me to forget it and "move on." Life's a bitch sometimes!
