The dead know nothing for they are nothing. What ever you put your hand to do do it with all your might, for there is no work from the grave. The lie that the soul lives on after death started with The surpent in the garden. The preachers still teach this lie today, That is satans preachers. The scriptures plainly say that the soul that sins it will die. If the dust + the breath of life = the soul then the soul - the breath of life = dust. Its that simple.

The dead DO know something. For a believer, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (Paul said that, I agree with him!.)

However, those that talk to the dead are usually doing one of two things: 1- They are talking to "familiar spirits" (aka, demons), or 2- they are using some of the popular methods demonstrated by some of the televised people that claim to communicate with the dead for loved ones. The fact is that just a few days ago I observed one of the best at work, followed by his own demonstration of how he had faked everything. It truly is amazing stuff, but phone nonetheless.

Have nothing to do with the deeds of darkness (Ephesians 5). That would include both demon communication (familiar spirits) or "pop psych" stuff.

See the parable of Jesus' about Lazarus and the rich man. And don't let anyone tell you that it's just a story, but it's not telling anything about the truth of heaven or hell. Why would Jesus use false theology to get another point across? Of course He wouldn't.
