Sound bites

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet : One Thread

I recently watched Branagh's version of "Hamlet" for a film class of mine, and surprisingly found myself loving it - never knew I'd really enjoy Shakespeare. Anyway, what I'd like to know is if anyone know where I could find a wav file or the like of the "To be or not to be" speech. I've looked around a bit, but no one seems to have any sounds from the movie. Thanks!

Liana,

Sorry I can't help you with the sound bite thing, but I wanted to recommend another "Shakespeare that you'll be surprised that you like"! Go to Blockbuster and rent "Much Ado About Nothing". Great music, and some really memorable bits. Branagh's efforts really shine (both behind and in front of the camera) in this one, too (although I find "Hamlet" to be a much cooler story)!

Besides, it will be much easier to get clips from Hamlet once it's released on DVD (WHERE OH WHERE IS THAT DVD????!!!)

Mm. And get Branagh's HENRY V while you're at it. Shakespeare lives.
