There are numerous pictures of the Warden's House (also known as the Commandant's Residence) at the National Park Service archive at the Presidio. They have a huge collection of Alcatraz photographs arranged chronologically and by building. For information and research hours call 415-561-4807.

I am sorry, I ment are there any pre fire photos of the wardens home on alcatraz that I can view on the internet?

Sorry about that. I just checked out all the web sites I know of that contain historic views of Alcatraz (i.e., Bancroft, NPS, SF Public Library) and none have any close-up views of the Warden's House while intact. There are lots of distance and aerial views of the island, though, and many of them show the house. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

I have a photo that I took in 1965, of the exterior from the land area below. I can email it if I have an address. I tried sending it to the email address given, but it was not deliverable.

Here's an old picture of the lighthouse and another building next to it which could be the warden's home:

You're probably gonna need to copy and paste that url into the address bar in two parts.

Do you have pictures of the wardens of Alcatraz? I need some ifo. about them. Some information about them would be nice too. I'm doing a school report and I,m trying to get alot of stuff about them. Are any of them still alive? If so, please contact me on my e-mail.I need to contact them. A phone number would be nice.

There were four wardens: James Johnson, Edwin Swope, Paul Madigan and Olin Blackwell. None are still alive.

The official Park Service web site for Alcatraz is a great place for this type of this information. It's at http://www.nps.gov/alcatraz/
