Edna Street in San Francisco

How/Why did San Francisco choose the name Edna Street? How can I find out who lived in my house on Edna after it was built? How can I find out if there are any old archived pictures from the 1 to 100 block of Edna Street?

Edna Street is part of the alphebetical set of Sunnyside Starting with Acadia and culminating with Hamburg now Ridgewood. The only assumpitons we can make is that the street had to start with E to provide the Alphabetical set.

Edna, of course is a very commmon female name and aless common family name.

The Edwin A Torrey family was a longterm Edna Street family. They lived at least from 1914 to 1933 at 31 Edna Street.

The 1933 Polk's directory lists Torrey as "lab" which suggests laborer.

Good luck in your research.
