ok,, its spreading around here,, more counties have reported finding dead crows with it. I read that only crows and blue jays are being tested for it,, but what about other birds? DO/Can they get it also? What about chickens? Anyone else worried about their poultry?

Ive have a "chest cold" for a few weeks now,,,had a fever, aches, congestion, ect ect. I still have a cough, and cant get it too clear up, sometimes it affects my voice. Think I caught WNV ?? Then symptons can mimic all kinds of differant things,, so,, since its lingering,, Im starting to wonder.

California is using chickens as their WNV canaries, they test them routinely so they will know when the virus hit California.

If it is lingering, then you can take some of the antivirals and most likely get it under control. Amantadine (sp) is an old time antiviral, that is sometimes used for hanging on viral/flu like things. There are a number of herbal remedies also, depending on what you have available.

Stan ,one thing I take when I feels sick is Zinc Picolinate. A brand I get in the health food store called " Now " seems to be a good one. They come in 25 and 50 mg. capsules. I used them yesterday, I was taking two 50 mg. every 3 hours yesterday and today 1 every 3 hours. I still feel a little under the weather but much better than yesterday. If I have a respirtory cold , I empty a capsule in my mouth and down it with some water or juice . It taste bitter but it has fast effects in making me feel better. I've used it on my goats in place of antibiotics when they've gotten sick. It works on chickens also. The healing properties of it work so fast , you can see results in hours. If you decide to try it don't get the wal-mart or value store brands , the maufactering process of vitamins is not all the same. You get what you pay for. It's sold for $5.49 for sixty 50 mg. capsules. Feel better.

Hi Stan, If you think you may have been infected maybe you should try some Colloidal Silver along with some Olive Leaf Extract. I'm taking both just as a precaution since I won't use the chemical bug sprays. You can use both along with the other suggestions given. Hope you feel better soon.

4 people in the state of Illinois tested positve for West Nile and one has died August 10 th.... I didn't take zincs this morning and my symthoms are coming back this evening . Except for not having fever I have alot of the same symthoms including the confused thinking . I have plenty of crows here and plenty of moquitos so there are pretty favorable conditions that would make it possible to catch . I'm gonna stay on the zincs for a few more days . What ever I have is responding to the zincs well . I know if I got it, I wouldn't die from it , it ain't my time yet . I wouldn't be suprised if more people have it than the CDC is letting us know about. They have mentioned in Texas how they want to inform the public without creating panic. They say every state east of the Rockies has West Nile , and my brother in Oregon says they have it there. ........Kathy you know about Colloidal Silver also ? I played music at a 3 day Benfit concert in N.C.last october that was raising money for a unique project some younsters have dreamed up.
