I think the space on the right side is not needed. IMHO you could crop close to the subject on the right side and bottom(up to the needles on the left) and I think it would strengthen and focus on the main object. Just my two cents.

I would also crop and have the subject more off center. Like most of your pictures, I really feel the desire to get into the desert more often. I envy you.

So THAT'S what a saguero bloom looks like. Having never been to the desert, I've only seen photos and t.v. shows, but don't recall seeing the blooms. Rather like a group of brussels sprouts.

Yes, it does need a bit of cropping, I'm wanting to get rid of that bright sky at the top.
