Help with Nero

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Hi

I recently found out how to use Nero to copy VCD's. I have burned a file to a Traxdata 74 min CD-RW 2X disk which nero burns to the disk fine and plays back in my PC smoothly, however when I put it in my DVD player it stops and pauses every 3-5 secs. This was when I tried burning it at 4x speed. Nero only allows me to burn at 2x or 4x. I thought it was because the CD-RW was only 2x but it still happened when I tried burning it a 2x speed. In the end I burned the same file onto a TDK CD-R disk certified up to 1x 2x 4x 6x 8x 10x 12x multi speed, but this disk wouldn't play in my DVD player even though it is VCD compatible. What am I doing wrong.

Nothing wrong. Not all DVD players, especially older models, can handle or play burned CD-R or CD-RWs. Could this be your problem?

As was said in another answer, not all DVD players support CD-R or CD-RW media. TDK CD-Rs actually use a type of dye that is known to be problematic for some DVD players. Check the DVD player compatibility list at http://www.vcdhelp.com and see what it says about your player.
