Hard Target shooting

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MILDOT : One Thread

I usually shoot on the range with a .22 bolt action. I don't hunt or anything, I just enjoy target shooting- Is there any safe (low chance of ricochet) material targets I can take to range and shoot, in case I get bored with plain paper shooting? I know tin can's work, but does anyboy have any ideas on other targets that are fun to shoot up?

Try lighting a match at 50 yards or putting out the flame on a candle.

Well, that´s what we try to do here: Helping mates out when it comes to whatever the problem might be. You´ll really enjoy those paintballs, I assure you!

Crackers, sugar cubes, paintballs (glue them to a cardboard), grapes, empty shotgun shells, small pieces of wood, lumps of dried clay - the list will only end with your imagination. Good luck.

i cut some .5 inch thick plate steel in different sizes burnt a hole to hang by a couple of chain links, hung from a peice of bent rebar stuck in the ground, have had no problems, i use lead .22lr bullets though, jacketed could be more prone to bounceing around, check with your range first though, some dont allow metal targets, bobby
