UPDATED: 8:55 a.m. EDT August 1, 2002
AKRON, Ohio -- Former Ohio Congressman James Traficant was seen sporting a new look in jail.
His mug shot after being processed at the Summit County Jail shows a typical Traficant. However, he did have to go without his rug in a routine search for contraband. Sheriff Drew Alexander said the former Youngstown representative, who was convicted of corruption charges in federal court, was allowed to keep the toupee in his cell.
But federal prisoners aren't allowed to wear toupees, so Traficant must give it up when he's sent to federal prison soon, according to Bureau of Prisons spokeswoman Traci Billingsley.
Traficant asked a Federal Appeals Court to allow him out on bond while he appeals his conviction.

We had a man in our office whom we nicknamed "Aldo Cello". This had to do with a TV ad for as I recall a wine. Aldo had beautiful women hovering about him, because of his wine, even though the TV voice declared "Aldo Cello is not a slave to fashion."
