Senna uninsurable. Differences in EvoII to EvoI??greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread |
I have "bought" a Senna but insurance company which originally said would insure it now won't. (And have spoken to every insurer in Australi9a and none others will insure one unless you are over 40 and keep it locked in abank vault). Unless the insurance company comes to its senses my options are to convince the dealer to sell me and EvoII (which he doesn't have) or a 2001 built EvoI which he does and is desparate to get rid of for about A$2000 cheaper (there are lots of them left over at dealers since the EvoI was brought out), all without losing the thousands in deposit. Money is not the issue, but is there a difference I should be concerned about? I ride a 2002 GSXR600 and an RGV250P only on sunny Sundays on the road. I have read much on this great site about certain differences with the first models in 2000, but what is the difference really?

PS: Dealer said he would fit Silmoto carbon fibre cans to the EvoI he has for A$1,100 to make it more attractive than the EvoII. Any thoughts?

What is this Evo I and Evo II talk? I've never heard this before...I've yet to see any aftermarket exhaust that does the MV justice.

Evo II has different specs, 137Hp-83Nm, as of different head design and camshafts/valves. Since 2002 this has changed. There is a little sticker extra on the seat under F4 sticker which says it's an evo II!

Thanks for the answers. I now have enough to go on.

I have a Euro-spec model and could not find the sticker underneath the tail section that said EVO I or EVO II. My title says it is a 2002, however, when I looked under the tail section, where the EVO sticker should be, there is a stamp that says 17 MAC 2001. Is there any way to tell if it is the EVO II like maybe a website that I can check the VIN #? Any help would be great. Thanks.
