SF East Bay Sunset

First try at a sunset. Any suggestions for improvement?

Doug, I think the foreground doesn't help this shot. Often sunsets need some foreground object for reference but the ditch isn't helpful. It would be stronger, I think, if you cropped it as a panoramic. The sunset itself looks a little soft. Maybe you pushed the shutter speed a little because of the low light? Maybe a tripod would help keep everything sharp.

Michael, I came to the same conclusions myself after a while. It's good to know that my own personal critiques are falling in line with what others have said.

I think that if you were to leave out about 85% of the forground, that it would improve the image greatly
