greenspun.com : LUSENET : Repossession : One Thread

I have just applied online for my credit file from equifax,,, paid the £2.50 and expected it to me e-mailed by return,,, no,, instead they say in the next screen it will be posted in 10 days or so.. bollox !

Anyway,,, will my equifax record show a score ??

I have recently been refused a mortgage and i now have gained the information of "pass scores" and what it needs to be to be successful.

Yours hopefully Concerned

Sounds like snail mail would have been quicker then :-))) As for your pass score knowledge, any chance that you could pass this on to the rest of us?

I've been able to study a number of SARN's from various banks and finance companies.

A number of these show the credit score, but without a base line of what a pass is, and if a pass score is in fact up or down, this does not mean very much. Every banks systems is different, one bank might have a pass score of 3,000 while another has different systems and a pass mark of 480.

This also makes it difficult to quantify a pass credit score from one bank with another.

Only one company shows what the pass number or target is in the SARN, and the data subject was declined credit because they had a CIFAS marker against them, this resulted in a score which was slightly lower than the target.

You can of course always ask the data controller what the pass score is?

Good Luck.

And, Equifdax & Experian would not show a credit score in your credit report anyway. They don't make the decisons, they just hold the data.

Good Luck.

Well,,,, Got the SARN back and it was not too bad,,,, but it didnt hve the score on it :(,,, but not to worry, i have found an error which may have affecterd the score,, so i shall write to the parties concerned and have it resolved.

As for passing on the score information i have,,, i really think that may be classed as fraud as people could use it to obtain credit.... and as it has also been pointed out,, differing institutions use different scoring paractices.

thanx to all
