ok,, just put the girls up for the night,, and I see a broken shell,,ok, so one cracked, no big deal,, . Then, I see a chick,, "mom" isnt even paying attention to it. I put her under mom, and she starts pecking at it. So,, I pull it out, and place it under one of the other setting hens. Checked the rest of "moms" eggs,, and one is peeping and pecking thru,, I place this one under, "new mom". SHe only had 2 eggs to sit on anyways. "original" mom (OG), still has 2 eggs, I candled them,, and Ill give it another day or so for signes of hatching. Heres the QUESTION,, why would a hen reject a chick? ANyone else have experience with this??
