Chula SR accident

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Georgia Southern & Florida RR Historical Society : One Thread

Okay SR experts and GS&F Fans...here comes a curve ball question. I have rumors that there was a serious train wreck dated sometime around the late 1900's in the town of Chula. Several people were killed. It was also one of the greatest accidents ever recorded for the Southern Railway. Does anyone have any information on this? I may be incorrect on the date of the accident.

There was a wreck at Chula on 14th March 1927. It was a collision and the full report can be viewed on the Special Collections site of the DoT - report 1331. Other GS&F wrecks are available.
