Moving of graves at Magnolia Cemetery, Spartanburg, SC

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Southern Railway : One Thread

Graves were moved from Magnolia Cemetery, Spartanburg SC in early 1900's (1914?) to add more railroad tracks at the train depot. Camp Wadsworth was built near Spartanburg during World War I and additional tracks were needed for incoming soldiers. Does Southern Railway have any information on this project i.e. names of graves moved, where they were moved to, who moved them, number of graves moved, etc?

Have you checked the local newspapers from that era? Most of the SR History files are at the Atlanta History Center in Atlanta, GA. Ask a search engine for Atlanta History Center.
